SIR ALEX FERGUSON ENTERS HORSE IN THE 2019 GRAND NATIONAL
According to the Irish Mirror, Former Manchester United Coach, Sir Alex Ferguson and Rolling Stones member, Ronnie Wood, are amongst many other celebrity owners who have named their horses amongst the 112 nominations for the Randox Health Grand National. The runners will be whittled down to 40 who will participate in the World’s most famous steeplechase be in contention to claim one of the most prestigious prizes in British sport.
Rolling Stones star Wood has entered his 10-year-old gelding Sandymount Duke, into the race, which takes place at Aintree on the 6th April with a total of £1million in prize money on offer – half of which goes to the winner. Ferguson is hoping his nine-year-old Give Me A Copper will line up on the same day his old club play Wolves in the Premier League.
Other notable owners who will potentially have runners in the Grand National include Ryanair chief executive, Michael O’Leary, and former Barclays Capital CEO Rich Ricci.
